Shreyas Talpade Refutes Rs 9 Crore Scam Allegations, Calls Claims 'Baseless'

Bollywood actor Shreyas Talpade has dismissed allegations linking him to a multi-crore chit fund scam, branding them as "completely false and devoid of merit." Known for his roles in Iqbal, Golmaal, and Poster Boys, Talpade found himself embroiled in controversy after reports surfaced about his alleged connection to fraudulent financial activities involving 'The Loni Urban Multistate Credit and Thrift Cooperative Society Limited.'

The organization is accused of deceiving investors in Mahoba, Uttar Pradesh, by falsely promising to double their investments. Amid media reports suggesting his association with the company, Talpade's team issued an official statement categorically denying any involvement.

"It is unfortunate that a person’s reputation can be tarnished by baseless rumors. The allegations against Mr. Shreyas Talpade are entirely false and without any merit whatsoever," the statement read.

Clarifying his limited connection to the company, the statement added, "As a public figure, Mr. Talpade is frequently invited to corporate and social events. His involvement was strictly limited to professional appearances, and beyond that, he has no affiliation with the company or its operations. He has never engaged in any fraudulent or unlawful activities as alleged."

The actor’s team urged the public to refrain from spreading misinformation and emphasized his commitment to integrity and professionalism. "We request everyone to verify facts before sharing unverified claims. Mr. Talpade is a law-abiding citizen dedicated to his work and ethical standards."

This isn’t the first time Talpade has faced such allegations. In February 2024, he and veteran actor Alok Nath were named in a separate FIR in Lucknow related to an alleged Rs 9 crore scam. They were also linked to a multi-level marketing scheme in Sonipat, Haryana.

Despite the controversy, Talpade remains busy with upcoming projects. He is set to star in Welcome to the Jungle, featuring Akshay Kumar, Sanjay Dutt, and Raveena Tandon, as well as Housefull 5, alongside Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, and Abhishek Bachchan.
